What Is a Three-Side Seal Pouch?

A three-side seal pouch is a pre-made flat package sealed along three edges, with one edge left open for product filling. After filling, the remaining edge is heat-sealed to complete the package.

This format is commonly used for small and medium portions, sample packs, flat products and single-use applications. It can be produced with transparent, printed, high-barrier or puncture-resistant laminated films according to the product requirements.

A three-side seal pouch is different from a four-side seal sachet, which is typically sealed on all four edges during the packing process. It is also different from a stand-up pouch because it does not use a bottom gusset to stand upright.
