What Is Center Seal Pouch Packaging?
A center-seal pouch is a flexible packaging format with a longitudinal fin or lap seal running down the center of the back panel and transverse seals across the top and bottom. It is also commonly described as a back-seal pouch. When formed around a product, this construction often creates the familiar pillow-pouch shape used on high-speed packaging lines.
Compared with three-side seal pouches, stand-up pouches, 8-side seal pouches and zipper pouches, center-seal pouches have a simpler structure. Keeping the longitudinal seal on the back leaves the front panel clear for brand graphics and product information while supporting efficient material use and high-speed forming, filling and sealing.
