A stand-up pouch is a laminated flexible package with an expandable bottom gusset. When filled, the gusset opens to form a stable base that allows the pouch to stand upright on a shelf without additional support.
Material structures can include clear plastic, metallized film, aluminum foil or kraft paper laminates, selected according to the product requirements. Dry foods typically require moisture protection, barrier performance and print quality, while liquids, sauces and personal care products may require stronger heat seals, leak resistance and compression resistance.
